ROYAL PERIDOT

I used to keep my work inside the workshop. Now I’m letting it out.
Here you’ll find poems, fragments, and sudden sparks.
Thanks for reading—if something stays with you, pass it on. More is coming.

Moving

Moving is a short story I wrote in the last workshop I took in school, at the time it was challenging for me because it had to be set on earth. Everything else I had ever wrote had been set in all fake places, when I sat down to write this I was pretty lost on ideas but over time and a few edits I came out with this.

Phases

I wrote “Grown Man” after realizing I’d been in a hurry my whole life. It began with an eight-year-old thinking cereal meant adulthood, then turned into a run through the phases that shaped me—friends, fear, love, ego, loss. I revised it until it felt honest: a story about growing up too fast and still not knowing what “grown” means.
